Malaysia International School tour
This time, we visited TENBY International School SETIA ECO PARK, located in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.
The school is located in Shah Alam, Selangor, about a 40-minute drive west from the city center of Kuala Lumpur. It occupies a vast 20-acre campus.
Founded in 1960 in Ipoh, TENBY has a long-standing history and is popular among locals. The school has a history of over 60 years and currently has around 1,200 students (subject to change). The school boasts excellent facilities, providing an environment where children can thrive and enjoy their school life. On the same campus, there is also a local Malaysian private school, and many local students attend as well.
Tenby International School is part of the ISP (International Schools Partnership) group, a global educational organization. The Tenby International Schools, Asia Pacific Schools, and Straits International School are all affiliated with the ISP group.
The campuses are located in Ipoh, Penang, Johor Bahru, Setia Eco Park, Setia Ecohill, and Tropicana Aman in Malaysia. We can introduce you to the Tenby International School at the location of your choice.
Below is an excerpt from the school's website.
As part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), They benefit from the resources, opportunities and rich educational experience of a group with 50 schools in 15 countries worldwide. ISP’s purpose in education is about bringing to life moments of Amazing Learning, where your child can say “I didn’t realise I could do that until now!” Amazing Learning means going beyond the level a student thinks possible, and it happens when children are provided with opportunities for “good struggle”, where they are exposed to repeated experiences that develop character in perseverance and learning.
Since its establishment in 2008, Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park has become one of the most popular centres for International and Malaysian National curriculum learning in the Klang Valley. The location in the township of Setia Alam offers convenient access from Klang, Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya.
A full 100% of our 2017/18 graduates received entry to their first choice university
destination. They consistently rank as one of the highest achieving international schools in the Klang Valley when it comes to academic results, and their excellence can be seen across both the International (Tenby International School) and Malaysian National (Sekolah Sri Tenby) streams.

◎Early Years
They adopt the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, the national early childhood education framework of the UK, to provide education that stimulates the curiosity of children aged 3 to 5 and fosters a love of learning. Their play-based approach allows children to naturally develop important social and interpersonal skills through play, while also laying a strong foundation for their future transition to international schools.
◎Primary – International Curriculum
At Tenby International School, the Primary years (ages 5-11) follow the National Curriculum for England (NCUK) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), promoting student growth through subject-based learning and co-curricular activities. The IPC is a thematic and creative curriculum that fosters international mindedness and personal learning, while systematically introducing new concepts at each grade level. Students progress through Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6).
◎Secondary
In the Secondary years programme at Tenby International School, students navigate Key Stage 3 (Year 7 – Year 9) and Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & Year 11), working towards attaining their IGCSEs at the completion of Year 11. This is an important stage in education where students mature into responsible young adults, and they are encouraged to become resilient, ambitious individuals who take responsibility for their decisions and future.Over the past three years, the average IGCSE grade of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park students has been an A, with 68% of grades this year being either A or A*. (As of October 2024, from the website)
◎Sixth FormThe Sixth Form at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park consists of two years of study (Year 12 & Year 13) and serves as a springboard for students—whether originally from Tenby International School, Sekolah Sri Tenby, or outside the Tenby Schools family—to embark on further studies in their field of choice at university level.
