Rafflesia International School Malaysia International School tour No.18

Rafflesia International School

This time, we visited Rafflesia International School, located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.

The school is situated in the Puchong area of Selangor, about a 50-minute drive from the city center of Kuala Lumpur. It offers affordable tuition fees, excellent facilities, and has a relatively small number of Japanese students, making it a hidden gem among international schools.

Additionally, the school is surrounded by residential areas, and next to the school, there is a cluster of small shops known as shop lots, providing a convenient living environment.

The following is an excerpt from the school's website.

At Rafflesia Schools provide high-quality international education to nurture the next generation of global leaders. Founded in 2010, the school is equipped with cutting-edge, eco-friendly facilities and offers a curriculum with an international perspective that maximizes students' potential. Taught by highly qualified and experienced educators from both overseas and Malaysia, the school provides individualized learning experiences that foster not only academic growth but also social and personal responsibility.

Rafflesia Schools emphasize the joy of learning and challenge, offering a wide range of events and activities that inspire curiosity and passion in students. Additionally, by focusing on the group's vision and mission, we respect diverse cultures and values, providing opportunities for students to discover and cultivate their individual talents, thus building the confidence to succeed on the global stage.

In addition to English being the medium of instruction at Rafflesia International School, students from early years to secondary school will pursue  mandatory  courses in English, Mandarin, and Malay. ⚫️International Early Years Curriculum

They offer Early Years Education programmes for children aged 3 to 5. In a safe and supportive learning environment, children acquire knowledge in a fun and balanced way, growing into confident, sociable learners. The goal is to nurture children who are eager to learn and never find learning dull, helping them develop into motivated, happy learners.

⚫️International Primary Curriculum They use the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) as it is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum for 3-12-year-olds, with a clear learning process and specific learning goals for every subject.IPC aims to help every child enjoy learning as much as they enjoy life. They are taught a wide range of subjects and groomed to build a knowledge-hungry mindset. Through the IPC learning approach, children develop the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to face the world in a confident way.

⚫️Cambridge Secondary1 As students enter adolescence, the influence of their peers plays a dominant role in their lives. In response to this fact, they prepare students to play a greater role in taking charge of their lives. The Cambridge Secondary 1 curriculum is structured to strengthen and diversify each student’s knowledge and their fundamental skills, particularly across the core subjects – English, mathematics and science.
